Listen to This Vol. 30

Each week, I will share three songs (or jams) I have been listening to recently that I think YOU should listen to. To check out all the previous weeks, click the link in the description or visit thisisstormsound.com.

First up this week is Beacon by Karina Rykman! Her latest single from the upcoming Joyride album goes full synth-pop with her trademark layers upon layers of music! Featuring Mike Gordon drummer John Kimock, the bassist locks in on an amazing rhythm and pocket throughout the song.

Next we have Walk to Midnight by Melt! Today is a good day for new releases, and the NYC group’s latest single is an awesome addition to their catalogue! Road-tested as part of their live shows, this track showcases vocalist Veronica Stewart-Frommer’s voice and lyrical abilities as the band unveils a more electronic feel than earlier releases.

Finally, we have Delicate Day by Mark Lettieri from his album Fly Through It. The perfect song for a hot July morning, this blissful and meditative track highlights the guitarist’s unique style atop a sparse rhythm section of drummer Jason JT Thomas and bassist Wes Stephenson.
